I can't believe how much weight Taylor has lost since he first found out he was invited to the Academy. He lost 30 pounds before we came to California, 5 pounds moving down here, and like 13 pounds his first week in the Academy. Now he won't weigh himself, but he is seriously cinching up his belt like every week. I seriously need to hit up Old Navy to buy him a new Wardrobe, but he doesn't want me to shop for him because he has 5 more months of Academy, which means he will probably continue to lose weight rapidly. I at least need to buy him some new swim trunks, because this weekend we went swimming and they kept falling down after being cinched all the way and having gym shorts underneath! Holy Cow. What's crazy, is I have never seen Taylor this thin! When I met him he was a HUGE BSU Lineman! He was a huge solid mass of muscle. It's crazy and good. I am so proud of him.

I have also lost 12 pounds since Taylor's Academy Invite! I am FINALLY back to my pre-pregnancy weight. And that is my pre-pregnancy weight PRE-TAYLEN! I feel so awesome right now. I just found some super cute old shorts I had from when I was first married (modest shorts) and I have not fit into them for a long time. Anyway, for some reason I have hung on to them and found them the other day and tried them on and they fit, in fact they are a little loose! I have had to shrink my jeans and my new capris I got for my birthday are super saggy on me after shrinking them. I am bummed about that, but otherwise I am super-stoked. I wish I would have lost this weight like 2 years ago, or even 1 year ago. But at least I lost it now!

Random Thoughts...

Okay, so for anyone who is reading this post-this is a totally random, rambling post. I am staying up late tonight as I always do when Taylor is in the Academy just sharing my random thoughts from my new crazy life.

California is good. We moved to this city called Rancho Cordova which is approximately 12 miles from Taylor's Academy, 20 miles from Taylor's parents and 10 miles away from Folsom which is a really nice area-This is where I do most of my shopping. Rancho Cordova is nice, but our neighborhood scared me at first glance. We found our apartment on the internet. When we were driving up to our apartment, I thought that we were going to live in a getto (no idea if that is spelled right). But it got better as we drove along, and our apartment complex is really nice. It is a gated apartment complex and every apartment has a built-in alarm system. There is also a security gaurd on site from 8pm to 4am every night. This makes me feel so much better regardless of the neighborhood, because I am alone with my girls 4-5 nights of the week. I really like our complex. There is a fitness center on site open 24 hours a day. I can't really utilize this given that my husband is never home and I have two kids, but still nice. They also have lots of free stuff, like free movie rentals, business center, cookies in the office, and every couple weeks they give you free subs or pizza by the pool. There is also a playground. Anyway, overall I am very pleased with the apartments considering we found them on the internet last minute.

Surprisingly, Cali doesn't seem that expensive so far, besides rent-which is pretty spendy. The only groceries that seem more expensive so far is milk. Everything else, including gas is the same price as Idaho. Our internet is more expensive, but we just got a rockin deal on auto insurance for our cars because Taylor is CHP now. I love perks. By the way, we just got a 2nd car too! We got a 2008 Nissan Sentra with only 43,000 miles for 10,000 out the door including taxes and registration (registration is very expensive in cali). It is weird to own two cars again.

Speaking of perks...we have the best benefits! Taylor just signed our whole family up for full health benefits, including dental and vision for $80.00 a month!! The medical insurance is insane. We have NO DEDUCTIBLE, $15 co-pays and 10% out of pocket! Oh my goodness. This is such a blessing for us! This job will be so wonderful just for the vacation time and benefits alone. Our previous insurance cost us over $600 every month, had a $1000 deductible per person and then went to 80/20. Anyway, I am very excited and relieved.

On to the negative... I miss Taylor so much! Not to be sappy, but I truly miss him. I have learned how much I truly depend on him in every way. The hard thing about Taylor being in the Academy isn't just that I don't see him for 3 days or sometimes 5 days, its that he sometimes can't even call home at night and when he does, you're lucky to talk to him for 5 minutes. It's not like you can call him on his cell and say, I miss ya or I have a question about this or that. It's been very hard. I am now in charge of all of our bills and money, which he previously took care of and I have to be in charge of finding new insurance, mortgage company, realators, etc. Anyway, I just miss him and then I have to entertain my two little girls in a place that is completely new and unfamiliar to me. I have to try to keep their minds off the fact that Daddy isn't coming home for awhile, and that they might not see their friends or our house in Kuna again. Taylen seems to be adjusting better than I thought she would, but it's just hard to keep them entertained when I am just trying to get things figured out down here. It's hard to be positive for them when at times I feel like breaking down.

Taylor said the Academy is 10 times worse than he thought it would be and he expected the worst. At the orientation, I found out the CHP Academy is the toughest law enforcement academy in the nation! One of the other cadets was previously in the military and said that the Academy was way worse than boot camp. These are some of the things that he has to deal with: a maximum of 5 hours of sleep/night, swallowing his food whole because they don't give you time to eat, but make you clean your plate, constant yelling in his ears during work-outs and throughout the day-all demeaning, horrible things, workouts so hard that one guy passed out and went to the hospital, knuckle pushups on asphalt for more than 10 minutes.... They also ruin their clothing. Taylor had to buy all of these workout shirts from them and stencil his own name on them and then they ruined them and made him buy another one and then they keep doing that over and over... We're gonna go broke buying work-out shirts:).... It is a place where there is no free time, if you do have time you study or polish your boots. It is a place of constant harrassment and public humilitation. It is crazy. I don't know how he is doing it, but I am very proud of him. I pray for him constantly. He is such a great guy and I know that he will get through it. We will both get through this and then 6 months from now, he will have an awesome job and things will be better. But for now, our life is crazy and even though it's crazy, I love it. It is a trial and a challenge, but I know that Heavenly Father would not have sent us here if we couldn't handle it.

My Baby Turned Two!

Mailey turned two yesterday! I seriously cannot believe how fast kids grow. It seems like just yesterday she was born! We celebrated her birthday on Saturday with just us. I made her a flower cupcake "cake." And we had presents too. She was so excited about her cupcakes, she had been begging for one all day. By the time we got to present time, she could care less. She was almost mad when I tried to make her open them. She didn't even end up opening them until later that day. We also took the girls to Chuck E Cheese. They had a ton of fun riding the rides and Taylor won them lots of tickets, so they got a cheap little prize. Anyway, it was a fun day. I am so glad Mailey was sent to our family. She brings so much happiness to us! Happy Birthday Mailey Rae!

My Handyman

I just wanted to give a shout out to my AWESOME hubby! We have been married almost 7 years, and we have never had to hire anyone to fix anything and we've had a lot of things break or go wrong or need fixed up! When we moved into our house, it was a BAD nicotine damage and he did all the scrubbing, priming, and painting on every surface. Our yard was also really BAD!! It's not perfect now, but if you had seen before and after pictures, you would see how much work Taylor did. We practically had a mini pond with the most hideous plants, weeds, boulder rocks etc. in the backyard, a jungle in half our front yard, and a dog Kennel with poop and weeds everywhere! Anyway, Taylor cleaned up the whole yard and got our yard looking descent. He installed our garage door opener, basically rebuilt our crappy sofa, and most recently installed a new sink fawcett!! He spent most of the night with his head jammed under the sink trying to screw or unscrew the fawcett (I think), working around pipes that practically took up all necessary space to work (and he is a big guy in case you didn't know) and ended up with bruises all over his chest and back! He really is awesome! I am so lucky to be married to a guy who works so hard and who is not afraid of a challenge!

Couponing Craziness!

I just thought I would post a few pictures of all the places I store my "stuff" I get from couponing. I have a very small house without even a linen closet or laundry room (we were very smart first time homebuyers as you can tell), so I have cereal in my closet, and in my garage. I also have diapers in my garage, and crackers, and laundry detergent, and dish soap... Then under both my bathroom sinks I have a TON of toiletries. Most of my toiletries are free or I get them for pennies a piece, so that is why I have so many. I would have taken a pictures of my whole shelf in my garage, but that would be embarassing because it is very messy right now.

I guess I will just need a bigger house or I will need to stop getting so many good deals. I would definitely prefer the bigger house:)

I have not posted or blogged in a very long time. I really need to post new pictures of my girls and Christmas updates!

Anyway, I will do that soon hopefully, but I have been doing P90X with Taylor for 8 days! It is insane. So far I have yet to lose any weight, but my stomach is like already flat again (as in since having babies-or almost that nice :/ ). Anyway, hopefully that means that something good is happening! Wish me luck!

I have not posted in FOREVER! We have been so busy with summer and I have been busy with my new obsession, couponing! The girls are getting so big and they are so much fun! Mailey is running everywhere! She is quite the handful, but lots of fun! She can almost keep up with her big sister! Taylen LOVES playing outside, loves singing, and loves playing daddy's old guitar. She also likes playing "grocery shopping," and coloring. She is fun too. Here are a few pics. I couldn't resist putting this picture of Mailey hauling around a huge bag of Tim's potato chips at my parents house. I also love the pic of Taylen playing her guitar!

I did it! I did couponing! I am so proud of myself because I hear everyone telling me about their coupon adventures and I am always wishing that I could figure it out. Well, yesterday I did the whole doubling scenarios at Albertsons as suggested on Krazy Coupon Lady and got over $31 worth of stuff for $6.50. I was pretty proud of myself! I feel like for the most part, I got things I'll use too: 2 packs of cookie dough, 2 bags of shredded cheese, 2 true delights box of granola bars, 2 southbeach box of granola bars, 2 bagelfuls, 1 light salad dressing, and palmolive dish soap. Anyway, had to share, hope I can continue to get better at this.

Taylor and I had our 6 Year Anniversary a few days ago and I am just now posting because I was hoping to get some wedding pics on my blog, but my disk is not working, so I am working on that problem, but here is one of the pictures I was able to use. Today is Taylen's Birthday! She turns 3, Holy Cow! We did most of our celebrating on Saturday. We had a birthday party for her and invited a bunch of her little friends, all girls. Taylor's boss let us use one of his jump houses and I think it was a hit. Taylen thought the jump house was her birthday present, she was so excited. Thank you to everyone who came and made it so much fun! Yesterday, she opened all of our presents, so she was officially spoiled! I think tonight we are going out to eat, somewhere with french fries, because that is her favorite! Happy Birthday Taylen!!

Crazy Old Lady...

So the other night I worked the night shift and Taylor had to work the next day cuz it was a week day- (unfortunately they haven't been able to schedule me on weekends lately). Anyway, so I had to take care of the girls on no sleep which makes me feel like I am drunk and weird, not to mention crabby. Anyway I decided to go grocery shopping while I was in town with the girls to save gas and to help keep me awake (instead of sitting at home falling asleep on the couch). So just in case any of you don't know, I am kind of a germ-a-phobe, especially when it comes to people I don't know touching my kids, or public places with shopping carts, etc. Some old lady comes up to our cart and sees Mailey and starts to come near her. I didn't think anything of it and continued looking at the shelf, just thinking that she was just smiling at her or something. Old ladies ooohh and awww over my kids a lot for some reason-especially Mailey. All of a sudden I turn around and the lady has pulled Mailey's hood down and is stroking her face!! I-being surprised and did I mention tired and grumpy said "uh-please don't touch her." She looked surprised, hurt, I don't know... Then I kind of felt bad, but then I thought to myself, even if I wasn't a germ-a-phobe, I don't want some random person touching my kids. I don't care if you're an old lady or not-if I don't know you, please don't stroke my kid's face. Maybe I'm over reacting, but that really urks me! Other women in the grocery store have asked if they can hold Mailey when was crying in her carseat while I was bagging groceries before. Hello-NO!! I happen to watch the news and hear about all sorts of crazies and child molesters and I have no idea who you are. No Thanks. Sorry, that was a total venting session, I am probably overreacting, but had to get it out!!

First Day of Spring!!

Friday was the first day of Spring (I think), and it was a beautiful day. I took some pictures of the girls. Taylen was thrilled to be outside, and Mailey sat in the swing for 45 minutes straight kicking and going "wow, wow, woooow." It was fun. I also added a pic of me with the girls on the side bar, as Taylor has been nagging me for awhile.

Mailey turned one (1) on Monday, March 9th. I can't belive how fast time flies. We had a small celebration on Sunday. I made her a cake and we had a few small gifts. Taylen helped open the gifts, of course. We let Mailey get naked and let her "have at" her cake, if she wanted. She was more interested in the balloons and cried whenever we pushed her toward the cake and got frosting on her. Neither of our girls have liked the whole cake thing on their first birthday. It was fun! I updated some other pictures below too!

Playing Catch Up...

Yay! Today I logged into my blog and it's going to let me post pictures, so I am updating. I will probably just post a ton of pics cuz I have to play catch up, but here are few cute things the girls are doing... Mailey just turned 1! Mailey has taken 13 steps. She will take my cell phone or a play phone and put it up to her ear, cock her head, and say "ah," like "hello." She is so cute. She knows when she isn't supposed to do something because she will look back at me anticipating me to tell her no. She loves to graze for crumbs on the floor-NASTY (no matter how clean I think my floors are-she finds something)! So I say "yuck" and take them away from her, (when I can catch her.) So now she sees me coming to take crumbs away from her and says "uck," and smiles at me. She's so funny. Taylen has been picking Mailey up and has carried her from one room to the other and almost lifted her on the couch. This is pretty scary, but Mailey holds her own. She can be mean to Taylen. She will hit her and scream at her. It's so funny! It's like they're already fighting.

Taylen is hilarious. Imagine this-Taylor farts and burps a lot. Anyway, I say this because that is why Taylen has been so funny lately. The other night we were getting her ready for bed and Taylor farted. She quickly pulled her shirt over her nose and said "gross." That must be my automatic reaction. Then we said a prayer and she added at the end, "and bless daddy won't fart." It was so hilarious. Then tonight Taylor passed gas again and Taylen goes "ew, does that smell like diarhea?" It was so stinkin' funny. We couldn't stop laughing. She also loves the movie "Nacho Libre" a lot right now. We watched it a couple weeks ago, and she thinks it's hilarious because Jack Black farts everytime he jumps. Also, Taylor burped tonight and Taylen goes "ew, what kind of burp is that daddy?" Anyway, quite the blogging material-I'm sure everyone wanted to hear it, but we thought it was pretty funny.

Sleeping Duty

I have not updated in Forever, but here are some cute things the girls have done lately... Taylen said a couple weeks ago, "It's driving me nuts." and has said it occasionally since then. She repeats a lot of what we say, but I guess that's why you have to be careful what you say around your kids. Appearantly, I say "driving me nuts" a lot. anyway, here is a picture of her in one of her princess dresses from Santa and a mask she made at the library. She says, I look like "Sleeping Duty." It's either that or "Cindabella."

Playing in the Snow, and funny things

Last night Taylor took Taylen out to play in the snow. She had so much fun! After they played for awhile, Taylen asked Daddy to go see the Christmas lights so he walked around the neighborhood with her. She wanted him to carry her, and then she said "careful Daddy, I don't want you to fall!" Then Taylor pointed out a blow-up santa in someone's yard and Taylen said, "that's not Santa, he's just a fake. He's too soft." Holy cow, where did she learn the word fake? She's so funny. The other day she tackled me and kissed me and then said "I got you silly girl!" Anyway here is a pic of them playing in the snow and then also I have a picture of Mailey bundled up last week for a walk, she looks like an eskimo!

Christmas Tree

This Christmas is so fun so far. Taylen is so excited about Christmas. She loves to see Christmas lights, Christmas trees, Santas, Christmas movies, etc... Anyway, she is so excited for Santa to bring her kitchen to her. We put our tree up a couple weeks ago. It was a lot of fun. Except for the part where our Christmas tree fell down 3 times with all of the ornaments on it! Taylor finally had to lug bolt the stand to the tree trunk because our tree stand was so worn out. Anyway, it was pretty comical, I was trying to hold the tree with one hand and a baby on my hip while Taylor laid under the tree trying to get it to stay up. He came out with glitter and pine needles all over him. Taylen had lots of fun helping us! As you can see she thought the stockings were a fashion accessory....

Holy cow, Mailey is sitting up by herself, and crawling all over now. It's not a perfect crawl, it's kind of a combination of a crawl and an army crawl, but she is so fast now. She is definitely trying to keep up with Taylen. Anyway, I think it's fun that she is getting so big, I can't wait until her and Taylen can play together even more.

So last week, Taylor was hunting in Arizona with his Dad and Brothers, so I took the girls up to my mom's house and we hung out with my parent's and Sister, and her daughter Tani. So this is a little late to be posting Halloween pics, but I've been super busy. Mailey was a pumpkin, thanks to my mom who sent her little costume down to her. She wore it for all of about 15 minutes before she decided that it wasn't so fun. Taylen loved her cow costume. For about two weeks before Halloween, she kept saying, "I'm gonna be a cow, a giraffe, a tiger..." over and over. She had seen the other costumes at Costco that we were choosing from and so I think that's why she kept saying that. Anyway, we got to go to Taylor's Halloween party at work, so that was nice, cuz we got to hang out with him for most of the day. There were jump houses and lots of fun stuff and good food! Taylen had so much fun! Then I took her Trick or treating to a few of the neighbors, she LOVED the candy (that would be an understatement!)

Update on our girls

So I am just figuring out this whole blog thing so I hope it looks okay. Anyway our girls are growing and changing so much. Taylen said her first prayer (repeating after us). It is was so cute I almost cried. She loves to pray now and sing. She can almost sing the first verse of "I am a child of God" by herself. She is so excited about praying and singing at church. She used to only be excited about playing. She tells us she loves us all the time and the other day she said, "Mommy, you love me?" It was so cute.

Mailey has her bottom two front teeth now. She rolls all over and laughs and squeals. She is so cute. I can't believe how fast she's growing!

I don't keep up on this stuff like a should. So here it goes. We have the new baby in the house. Well now she is 4 months old and a little chunck. We love it. Her name is Mailey Rae Moore. She is a pasty white blue eyed albino. She looks like the head keibler elf. Taylen is 2 now and quite the little brat. Heidi is working again only 2 to 3 shifts a month. I am now the operations manager of System Kleen. So all is good.
